I’m Jemma Austin, a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and EMDR Practitioner with 20 years’ experience supporting adults with a wide range of mental health difficulties. I specialise in trauma-focused therapy, using EMDR alongside CBT and other evidence-based approaches to help people recover from distressing experiences and overcome the difficulties that continue to affect them.
Trauma does not always come from one single event. Sometimes it develops through childhood experiences, difficult relationships, loss, repeated stress, medical experiences or situations where you felt overwhelmed, unsafe or unable to cope. These experiences can continue to affect how you feel, think, relate to others and see yourself.
I also support people experiencing anxiety, panic, OCD, depression, low self-esteem, stress and burnout, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Whether you feel stuck in the past, overwhelmed in the present, or uncertain about how to move forward, therapy offers a safe and supportive space to understand your experiences, develop new ways of coping and create lasting change.

About Me
Hi, I'm Jemma, an experienced CBT & EMDR therapist, offering online support for a range of emotional difficulties.
My journey into therapy began with a deep desire to understand what drives our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, especially when facing anxiety, depression, and trauma. I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives, helping them move from feeling overwhelmed and stuck to a place of clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.
I took my first step into the field of mental health 20 years ago. Working across the NHS, private sector, and online therapy services, I have supported individuals with a wide range of challenges—from everyday stress and low mood to complex PTSD and deeply ingrained fears. Over time, I became increasingly drawn to evidence-based therapies that empower people to break free from unhelpful patterns and build emotional resilience. As a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), EMDR Practitioner, and Interpersonal Psychotherapist (IPT), I specialise in helping individuals process past experiences, manage overwhelming emotions, and develop healthier coping strategies. Whether through EMDR for trauma recovery, CBT for anxiety and depression or ACT and CFT to build emotional strength, my approach is always tailored to your unique needs. Today, I offer online therapy and some limited availability for face to face appointments for adults (17+), providing a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I understand that reaching out for help can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone.
